"Queer mental health" is a neutral term that is often portrayed in a negative light. Queer and cis-het folks alike are inundated with the idea that the mental health of the queer community is drenched in shame, trauma, depression, and more. Of course, there are pervasive levels of all these things amongst queer folks due to the cis-heteropatriarchal system we all live in and the system must change. However, these are not all that we are and do not define us as individuals or a group of people. My queerness is a strength, even an asset. How do you relate to your queerness?
In this worksheet, I pose four thought-provoking questions that will ignite your innate resilience as a queer person. By answering these questions, you will reflect on your queerness from a positive perspective that's integral to who you are as a whole, beautiful human being. There are no right or wrong answers and your answers may ebb and flow depending on where you're at in life, so come back later and see how you've grown. Take your time and have fun with it!
